The brand is like being endorsed by National Geographic… well, maybe I’m too exaggerating. But, every time I watch National Geographic or read their magazine, I always notice the brand Manfrotto in their tripod

And that is why I get myself one last year… the Manfrotto 190XProB plus its head Manfrotto 486RC2. I choose it for many reason… features, branding, quality etc.

It won the European Photo & Imaging Awards in TIPA 2007 BEST Accessories Award.

Have a look at its video I uploaded to YouTube

Currently I’m having a mini tripod, about 6 inches. I’m thinking of getting a big tripod like the Canon Deluxe Tripod 200 Camera Stand or Nikon 7074 Full-Size Camo Tripod.

Anyway, there are mini tripods which are versatile enough to be hooked or tied on to a branch. If you can’t guess which one it is, it is the Gorillapod from Joby.

Compared to the mini tripod I have which cannot be bent, Gorillapod is… a gorilla… it grabs!!! Just look at these…

Bend it…

… and see how easy it is to do macro or maneuvering.

This gorilla is strong enough to hold your super SLR Zoom Lens.
