Tuaran Old Shops

These are photos of Tuaran’s old shops taken on the 18 March 2008. Tuaran is famous with its Tuaran’s Mee or Tuaran’s Noodles. This block is located near the Tadika Chen Sin. Tuaran is about 40KM from Kota Kinabalu. The road to Tuaran is good, so anyone planning to visit Tuaran should not have to worry about transport service.

Polarizer and zoom lens

Got the chance to use a Canon EFs 55-200mm f/4-5.6 IS lens today and at the same time using a HOYA CIR-Polarizing with 0.74 pitch.

Got my gears from Invetsline Sdn. Bhd.

Taken without the polarizing filter… and the effect of the HOYA CIR-Polarizing filter with 0.75 pitch. This is taken indoor with not enough good lighting. Will test it outdoor later.

Story of my camera

I got my D40 on 11 March but until now I haven’t show any of its produce. I did show how the camera looks like at my Swordie Bloggie.

Anyway, when I got it that day, the CF card I ordered did not come together, because the ‘taukey’ forgot to include it in my earlier order. I have to wait some more days for the CF card. I borrowed a CF card from the shop so that I can start playing with the camera and I did not saved any of the photos captured with it coz most of it are just random shoots for testing the camera.

I got my 4GB SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition on the 14 March which I did not expect that soon. Up until now, I’ve taken more than 2GB of photos… but most of them are for testing.

Hopefully, I will start publishing more of my photos soon…

These are the first 3 original photos I’ve taken with the Canon EOS 40D and SanDisk Ducati on the 14 March. They are bit shaky…

He is the ‘taukey’… no lah, the boy was helping me with the Ducati and once it’s ready, I captured him.

View taken from the 17th Floor of Cititel Hotel, Kuala Lumpur in November 2007. Using the Canon PowerShot S5 is great for telephoto shots. I like to use its telephoto to the max.

This is my main camera at the moment. This camera is very suitable for those who want to feel SLR like camera. The specifications are:

12x optical

The ultra-powerful 12x optical zoom on the PowerShot S5 IS means you’ll get the shot you want without getting close to the subject.

With Canon latest DIGIC III Image Processor, still images and movies are rendered with fine detail and luminous clarity. The hot shoe adapter on the S5 allows for attaching Canon Speedlite EX Series external flashes.

The S5 supports SD, SDHC, and MMC media. For best performance, I suggest you to use SDHC. Currently I’m using the Toshiba 4.0GB SDHC Class 4 media. The different is very obvious compared to lower grade storage media. With SDHC Class 4, you will be able to capture and store images without lag.

S5 is using 4 x AA battery. I’m using the Sony 2700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. The lifespan is reasonable. But I advice you to carry 1 set extra of the batteries.
