Canon PowerShot S5 IS

This is my main camera at the moment. This camera is very suitable for those who want to feel SLR like camera. The specifications are:
- 12x optical
- 4x digital
- 8 Megapixel CCD

- Higher top sensitivity (ISO 80 – 1600)
- Ability to record longer movie clips

The ultra-powerful 12x optical zoom on the PowerShot S5 IS means you’ll get the shot you want without getting close to the subject.
With Canon latest DIGIC III Image Processor, still images and movies are rendered with fine detail and luminous clarity. The hot shoe adapter on the S5 allows for attaching Canon Speedlite EX Series external flashes.
The S5 supports SD, SDHC, and MMC media. For best performance, I suggest you to use SDHC. Currently I’m using the Toshiba 4.0GB SDHC Class 4 media. The different is very obvious compared to lower grade storage media. With SDHC Class 4, you will be able to capture and store images without lag.
S5 is using 4 x AA battery. I’m using the Sony 2700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. The lifespan is reasonable. But I advice you to carry 1 set extra of the batteries.

Does it allow you to zoom while the shutter is openned (to take special effect photos)?
It was my dream camera, but now I’m going to get Canon Powershot SX1 IS soon.

Looks like you can’t do that dude… infact its quite hard to do if it possible coz the zoom lever and the shutter button are at the same location… have to use the same finger
Yea… that the latest upgrade of the S5… with D!G!C 4 and Full HD
… with more zoom
