A single photos can tell a whole story… just like the quote… ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’. Yes, it’s true sometimes… no, not sometimes… but almost most of the time, explaining with words are much harder compared to by just showing picture or chart… I’m sure you get what the quote means so I’m not going to talk much about it… but enough by just saying photos tells story and it freezes the time.

Before digital camera, we use film… and from the film we print the photos… and that photos is the only records of the moment… the photos has frozen the time. You can’t repeat what on the picture… of course you can recreate or reenact it but it will never be the same… the moment you shoot the picture, whatever on the film has already turned into history.

Can you believe there are still many manual camera around?… You can tell coz there are still many selling the films. But don’t be so negative about those cameras, it has it pros and cons as opposed to digital camera. But treasuring the printed photos is not easy… it won’t last long… it goes missing… it gets scratched… it gets torn… it gets faded… etc… But of course now a days there are so many ways to preserve them… one is to scan the photos.  Photo scanning is the best way to preserve those memories. With today’s scanner and digital imaging software, you can do all kind of manipulations on the scanned photos… if it an old photos, you can remove those scratches, un-fade it, fix those torn part, etc.

So, if you have old photos, it is time to scan them ALL before they get damage or lose it forever… I lost all my university photos because of termite… it was my fault, I did not take care the album very well… I just keep it in the store… Wish they were taken with digital camera or have scanned it earlier.
